  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Harry Bayley - My paintings are very much about expressing colour in different ways, which I incorporate into whatever painting that I am working on whether it be my own work or a commission. I think colour when used in a painting whether it be bold or subtle can make all the differnce. I would describe my paintings as absrtact, contemporary and full of colour expression....

John Sims - Following some thirty years working as a graphic designer and illustrator I began stone carving in 2000 and in 2002 I returned to college at Christ Church Canterbury in England to study BA Fine Art. In 2007 I went to the Cyprus College of Art to study for a Post Grad Diploma in Fine Art under the great Cypriot artist, Stass Paraskos. At the end of the course I was asked to stay on and run the Summer Schools and to be tutor on the Post Grad course. An incredible experience and an enormous influence on my work. My work now involves less stone carving more often found timber or kebab sticks My drawing in some respects has turned a full circle in the sense that prior to sculpture my illustration work was colourful but painstakingly detailed and stylised. At college I concentrated on measured observational life drawing in pencil which fed into the simple lines of my mainly figuratively based stone carvings. Whilst in Cyprus I re-discovered colour in both my drawing and sculpture. Dreams and mythology filled my waking and sleeping hours. Oil pastel and oil sticks became my favourite mediums to quickly capture these glimpses of ...

Eileen Seitz - I was born and raised on the Island of Manhattan, NYC. My spirit learned early about the concrete jungle with its melting pot of cultures and the grand variety of NYC's architecture . It was at the age of 16 that I first traveled to the tropical green jungles OF THE Caribbean. I saw the turquoise seas, the foliage, the flowers when i felt the truth and beauty there overwhelming while inspiring me. Seeing the flow of nature with its colors and harmonies,I feel to bring to life both on paper and canvas. My true joy, comes from two things, the acutal art of painting of letting the spirit speak through my brush, and seeing that spirit reborn in the faces and hearts of the people who come to share my anonymous gift....

Judith Smith Wilson - Welcome to the world of exotic animals and culture as seen through the eyes of this extraordinary artist. Follow the mood as Ms. Wilson leads you to the darkest regions of Africa and beyond.....She has been specializing in Animal Wildlife Paintings and portraits of people for over 40 years. She is a will known animal ecologist, and belongs to many wildlife organizations, including the East African Wildlife Society. Ms. Wilson has traveled to Kenya East Africa, and Rwanda East Africa, three times. She also has had the privilege to observe the endangered Mountain Gorillas in the Virunga Mountains, and all of Africa's wonderful wildlife. Ms. Wilson has cared for many injured wild animals, eventually releasing them back to their native habitat. One of these animals, a bobcat named "Precious" was not able to be released, and remained a beloved friend to her family for over twenty years. She has shown her work in Nairobi and Rwanda East Africa, and many Galleries in the United States over her 40 year career. Her work is currently being shown in San Diego, Los Angeles California and The Fine Art museum in Owensboro Kentucky. Also in Owensboro at'Gallery 412' and'Grey ...

John Powell - Artist Statement This body of work comes from a community of ideas. My art evoke a dialogue, a message as a language I speak, to create peace in a cosmic dialogue. It speaks in the future tense in a context of time that evoke a feeling of aEUR~time passesaEURtm... The emotional and psychological content of my subject, the way the body expresses its emotion, it contextualizes the concepts of the duality of the meaning of the imagery. My style is an expression of my philosophy which becomes a language using, Post Modern, Expressionism, Latin American Tradition, Surrealism, and soft Classism. It expresses my deep awareness of global issues and is counterbalanced with my cultural heritage. My inspiration originates from lifenature, itaEURtms too spiritual to express. However, it is the same expressive energy as the work transfused between energies which awaken the realms of these energies and evoked them in dialogueaEUR| . I use a certain iconography, which becomes a language. My art has helped me to see that nothing on earth is solitary, all things are interlinked. The unique expression in my art, is an attitudelanguage of my style but is easily understood in itaEURtms emotion. My art Carries ...

Lucille Rella - Color, I can't imagine life without it. We are surrounded by it. Our attention is drawn to it and it creates a variety of moods in our environment. It motivates me to paint. A spectrum of lights and darks, high colors and muted tones get me involved in a painting. The wonderful transparency and spontaneity of the watercolor medium, helps me to utilize these qualities in expressing my art work. ...

Shelly Leitheiser - Art comes from my head and my heart. I care deeply about the environment and often do artwork expressing my interest in environmental topics. I also use my art work to tell stories and uncover truths. Water and paint are sometimes used but often I will use photography and digital painting programs to get the images I envision. I am a formally trained artist in fine art, and have recently left the world of painting realism as my interest in photography grows. Why should art and photography look the same? Now I do more impressionist art and also abstracts, many of them inspired by other worlds. The realistic painting I do these days is very contemporary. Art is a lot of work but it's also very rewarding for me when someone inquires further into the meaning of my art....

William Christopherson - The viewer sees a finished canvas. The artist relishes its journey of creation. A thought, a feeling, an experience, a place. These are the most essential of supplies as the artist tasks to expand, explore, and evolve along the path. All are welcome here, to view, appreciate contemplate, and possess the journeys I have made, and the journeys yet to come. Over the past several years I have explored the oil medium, borrowing technique from both historical and present day impressionism. Its a medium I love to work in, even though my wardrobe and studio surfaces have suffered immensely. Much of my work now reflects the pallet knife, and explores a prolific use of heavy colorful brush stroke. Everything continues to evolve, and thats a good thing Enjoy. William Christopherson, 2017 ...

Eve Co - I began painting and drawing in 1987 and have not stopped. I have a wide range from, landscapes, still-lifes, Hubble art galaxies nebulas, abstracts, florals, architectural art and so much more. I draw every day and paint as much as I can afford. I paint more watercolors than acrylic and oil canvas art. I would prefer more canvas art, but I make do with what I have. I try to express myself in artwork as well as with words. I paint landscapes, the glorious colors of nature, water, the ever expressive sky and more, primarily with watercolors on paper. These paintings are usually thought out and planned because they represent nature as I see nature. I paint still-lifes of everyday objects. To teach me about one particular color, shading and or painting glass. I think of still-lifes as a learning process that literally has me pulling my hair out in frustration, but I still paint through how they make me feel... I am fascinated with Hubble Space Technology so, I paint galaxies and nebulas on canvas with acrylic paints. I have sold many of these paintings and I must admit they are some of my favorite subjects...

Luise Andersen - Luise'Mignon' Andersen Luise'Mignon' Andersen has only recently begun to reveal her lifes work. Soon after her debut she exploded onto the mainstream art world. Her breathtaking pieces have captured international interest. The stories Luise'Mignon' is telling through her truly deep, layered works seem to decipher the past and foretell the future, perhaps sharing her window to other dimensions and a seventh sense. Her detailed acrylic'Mignon' series speaks to the beholder. They inspire raw emotion and ignite ones imagination. The indescribable nature of the "Duree De Ma Vie" in particular has a growing portion of the art community considering it the conception of an entirely new style.
