Why not come to Hara Museum
ARC to enjoy the beautiful,
highland meadows and the tenth
installment of Art is Fun, the
museums popular summer series
aimed at making the world of
contemporary art less opaque,
more accessible, and easier to
enjoy for people of all ages. Every
year, this specially series
introduces the work of young,
cutting-edge artists and provides
visitors with the opportunity to
make or experience art directly
through related events, such as
workshops and on-site art
productions.
The works in this summers
exhibition were selected under the
theme Angelic, Devilish, or Both.
The word devilish doesnt refer
to frightening or scary works. It
refers to the dual nature that each
piece exhibits a nature that at first
glance may seem contradictory.
For example,something cute on the
outside is shown upon closer
examination to have a more
ominous character. A cold and
brusque exterior turns out to be a
cover for a more humorous side.
In this way, these works free your
imagination from normal reality,
allowing it to enter another,
mysterious world.
Eight artists are featured in this
show, all interesting yet devilish in
their own special way. Participating
Artists:
Taira Ichikawa, Izuru Kasahara,
Masayo Koizumi, Tae Morita,
Yoshitomo Nara, Oscar Satio Oiwa,
Hiroshi Sugito, Tatsuji Ushijima
