"Keith Haring: Made in France"
1999-07-26 until 1999-09-22
Fondation Dina Vierny - Muse Maillol
Paris, ,
FR France
In spite of a too short career, Keith Haring has become one of the most
sought after artists of his generation. Collaborating on numerous public
art projects in France, his notable accomplishments included mural
paintings and large compositions for the Paris metro stations (Alma
Marceau and Dupleix). Like some American painters, Keith Haring maintained a
privileged relationship with Paris; he formed a circle of loyal friends
of which Georges Condo, Bruno Schmidt, Castelbajac, Otto Hahn and many
others have generously loaned works for the exhibition that were linked
to Harings stays in France. The exhibition assembles 60 works --
represented in their original form -- accompanied by documents, that for
the most part, are unpublished. A unique opportunity to see or to
discover an artist whose renown no longer needs to be proved.
