"Last Chance: Callum Morton - International Style"

International Style, an installation by Melbourne-based artist Callum Morton, continues Mortons investigations into
the relationship between private and public space. Mortons work references Mies van der Rohes Farnsworth House
(built in Illinois, 1945-1950), known at the time as a new vision of art and life. In reconstructing within the Museum a
seminal model of Bauhaus design , Morton alludes to the entire suburban framework that characterizes Los Angeles
and Melbourne, as well as other urban centers, and to increasingly mobile lifestyles that privilege distracted or
incidental modes of perception. This exhibition has been supported, in part, by The Australia Council, Arts 21
(Australia), the LLWW Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
