After an extensive search, the Amon Carter Museum announced the appointment of a new curator of paintings and sculpture. Patricia Junker comes from the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, M.H. de Young Museum, where she currently serves as associate curator of American art.
We are very excited to have Patricia Junker joining our staff. She is a consumate scholar and a first-rate teacher of American art; we are looking forward to having her work with our collection, said Rick Stewart, director of the Museum. I know she will bring added depth to our upcoming exhibition programs. Patti is an ideal complement and welcome addition to the Carter’s talented curatorial staff.
This position represents a tremendous opportunity for anyone interested in American art; I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the collections and staff of the Amon Carter Museum, stated Junker. The collections of the Carter are superb. And the Museum has a grand history of pioneering important scholarship n the field of American art. I am honored to become par of this effort.
Patricia Junker received her Masters of Arts from the University of Michigan with a concentration in nineteenth-century American art; her Bachelor of Arts was received from the University of Toledo. She has published widely and received research grants from The henry Luce Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
