"The Getty Grant Program Accepting Applications for New Curatorial Research Fellowships"
0000-00-00 until 0000-00-00
J.P. Getty Museum
Los Angeles, CA, USA United States of America

Museum curators may now apply for new Curatorial Research Fellowships offered by the Getty Grant Program. Designed to support professional scholarly development, these fellowships offer curators time off to pursue short-term research or study projects. This year’s application deadline is November 1, 1999. The Curatorial Research Fellowships provide stipends of $3,500 per month and up to $3,000 for travel and research materials. Although fellows are welcome to use the Getty Research Library if their projects bring them to Los Angeles, the fellowships are nonresidential. Scholars are offered the flexibility to pursue research wherever necessary to complete their projects. Applicants may apply for a research period of one to three months to take place between June 1, 2000 and September 1, 2001.

To be eligible to apply for a Curatorial Research Fellowship, curators must be employed full-time at museums with art collections and have three years’ professional experience. The fellowships are open to curators internationally.

How To Apply

Additional information about the Curatorial Research Fellowships is available online at http://www.getty.edu/grant/research2000 or by contacting the Getty by e-mail at researchgrants@getty.edu. Written requests about the fellowships should be directed to: The Getty Grant Program, 1200 Getty Center Drive, Suite 800, Los Angeles, CA 90049-1685, USA

Other Getty Research Grants

In addition to the new Curatorial Research Fellowships, the Getty also offers a number of other research grants for scholars at the senior, midcareer, postdoctoral, and predoctoral levels. These include both residential grants (requiring residency at the Getty Center) and nonresidential grants (research may be conducted wherever necessary to complete projects). Additional information is available online at http://www.getty.edu/grant/research2000.
