"Me Myself & I. Self-Images, 300 years after Rembrandt"
0000-00-00 until 0000-00-00
The Hague Historical Museum
Den Haag, ,
NL Netherlands
Rembrandts self-portraits in the
Mauritshuis, a show entitled Me, Myself & I including works of
international contemporary artists will be presented at The Hague
Historical Museum.
That Rembrandt Portrayed himself so frequently is a rather significant
fact for which art historians have no unequivocal explanation. However,
the reasons why artists today make use of representations of themselves
in their work are more obvious. They are expanding on the traditional
idea of the subjective self-portrait by using themselves as material in
a myriad of ways.
