"PANORAMIC EXHIBITION OF CALABRONE,
Fractal Art pioneer"
1999-11-04 until 0000-00-00
SESC's Cultural Center
Sao Paulo, ,
BR Brazil
Curated by Jacob Klintowitz, art critic, a panoramic exhibition
of Calabrone's work will start on November 4.
Calabrone, the 71 year old sculptor, 45 of which spent in Brazil,
Italian by birth and an artist with a very comprehensive and
humanistic background; his creative process is now at its highest.
His youthful enthusiasm has led him to the new and fascinating
adventure of Fractal Art - in which he is a pioneer in Brazil.
I always believed in the existence of a primordial order
hidden within Chaos. Intuitively I have always been fractal.
I believe that within the universe we are both individuals
and humanity, particles and cosmos.
The fractal thought, in its cosmogonic meaning,
is one and plural.
This is how Calabrone defines his concept/intuition/reflection of
the occult order in the universe, which because of cybernetics can
now be individualized and processed by means of fractal geometry.
The modern premises of SESC's Cultural Center, headed by
Danilo Miranda dos Santos will host an exhibit of work by this
acclaimed sculptor, featuring some of his most important phases.
At the same time there will be the launching of the Book entitled
A Fragmentação e o Nascimento da Forma, Domenico Calabrone
(Fragmentation and the Birth of Form, Domenico Calabrone)
by Jacob Klintowitz, published by SESC. The book illustrates
the artist's evolution, from intuitive art as a child to recent
discoveries and accomplishments in the
Art of Complexity: Chaos/Fractal.
