"Artist offers year 2000 work for $40,000 salary"
1999-11-15 until 0000-00-00
PHIL VOLK CONTEMPORARY ART

Here's one way of guaranteeing you won't have to worry about the rent in 2000. Phil Volk, the artist behind Phil Volk Contemporary Art, is putting
himself up for auction on eBay starting November 15th as your personal
artist for one year. The auction will continue for as many weeks as it
takes for that one lucky person to bid $40,000+. That one lucky person
gets to have everything the artist creates in the year 2000. Ideally it
would be in the best interest of all involved that the $40,000 starting
bid be surpassed, the idea being that the more money the artist has to
work with, the more he is able to do. The reserve is set at $50,000,
the extra $10,000 to compensate for overhead. Phil has worked up a
budget that can be used as a guideline for bidding or can be discussed
further in the final agreement.
The budget break down is as follows:
$40,000 Salary
$20,000 Assistantís Salary
$40,000 Overhead (i.e. studio space, supplies, etc.)
$100,000 Total
As you can see Phil is not looking to get rich from this venture. In
fact, his budgeted salary barely meets what he makes at his current
position. What he wishes is to spend the year doing what he loves most,
creating art. The highest bidder will gain a mountain of work, to
include licensing rights, by a very promising, up and coming artist.
The highest bidder risks nothing considering a legally binding agreement
will be drawn up, agreed upon, and signed by both parties. A minimum of
work will be established and documented in the agreement. The artist in
turn risks his reputation in the art community if he does not satisfy
the terms stated in the agreement.
*Artist resume and employment references available upon request.
*Media include oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed, collage, sculpture (all
sizes and media), photography, contemporary installations, and more.
*Great investment for the art dealer or gift for the art collector.
