Both full-time and adjunct faculty will exhibit works in a variety
of media including sculpture and oil paintings. For the first time, graphic
design faculty will be part of the biennial exhibit because the art
department expanded this year to include the graphic design major -
formerly part of KSCs technology, design, and safety department.
The artists featured in the exhibit include Samuel Azzaro, Daniel
Carr, Dede Cummings, Rosemarie Bernardi, Julia Ferrari, Henry Freedman,
Heather Gendron, Laura Hall, Marsha Hewitt, Karl Hluska, Laura Jones, Ann
Laroche, Jack Marshall, Stephanie Nichols, Walter Nicolai, John Roberts,
Katharina Rooney, Peter Roos, Kenneth Spector, Alexa Thayer, Jeff Topping,
and Karla Whitney.
Showing concurrently with The Keene State College Art Faculty
Exhibition 1999 will be You Never Know: Recent Accessions and other
Selections, an exhibition of recent donations and other art in the
Thornes permanent collection including a series of color lithographs by
Dutch artist Corneille, works by 19th-century artists who flourished around
Mount Monadnock, and contemporary artists such as photographer Robert
Mapplethorpe. The images in this exhibition, which will close Nov. 24, will
change over the course of the semester.
The gallery is open from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday through Wednesday
and noon to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday. The gallery, open only when Keene
State College is in session, will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday
Nov. 25-28. Located on Wyman Way, the gallery is accessible to people with
