"Legacy of the 20th Century"
1999-12-03 until 1999-12-05
BROOK THEATRE
Chatham, ,
UK United Kingdom
'Legacy of the 20th Century' is a short exhibition, three days only, that
juxtaposes the £millions being spent on the millennium celebrations against
the 'baggage' of homelessness, unemployment and drug abuse that we are
actually carrying into the new millennium.
Aptly taking place at Chatham, England, literally just across the River
Thames from the Greenwich Millennium Dome, the Medway Millennium Dome will
be constructed from soup cans with the roof of the Dome made from second -
hand clothes - all recycleable and being donated to the homeless after the
event. The exhibition has, as a backdrop, a working soup kitchen - (soup
donated by Heinz Ltd) and bread also donated from a local baker. Powerful
visual images of refugees, the homeless and drug addicts will also feature.
Venue: THE BROOK THEATRE, Old Town Hall, Chatham. Medway. England.
Dates: Friday 3rd December - Sunday 5th December 1999.
Times: 10.00am - 5.00pm daily
