The work of four artists in differing mediums about the culture and identity
of Cornwall that presents a new perspective on one of the oldest cultures in
europe.
The work of Agnes Mercedes succinctly presents her celtic heritage and
challenges the predominantly male world of reason.Her Video Installation;
The Opposite of Reason, highlights the fundamental pre christian strands of
culture absorbed through mother daughter links and the regenerating myths
that dominant English media often overlooks.
The Book Art of Andrew Lanyon represents a part of this foremost artists
extremely wide parish of involvment including film, many will know of his
genuinely extensive back catologue of uncompromising subject matter and
unparralelled wit.
Roger Davidson is a painter from West Cornwall whose work combines the ethos
of his environment against abstracted elements colliding with imaginary
symbols from the sphere of the psyche. A resurfacing simplicity is promised
in the development of these new images.
Jonathan Polkest is a painter and lecturer from West Cornwall who exhibits
nationally and internationally.
