This exhibition includes a selection of Yoruba objects from the Art
Institute's collection and photographs from the archive of the late William
B. Fagg, former keeper of ethnography at the British Museum and an
authoritative scholar of African art.
The photographs, taken between 1949
and 1959, give us a deeper understanding of the connection between the
works on view and Yoruba life.
