"Half Past Autumn: The Art of Gordon Parks"

Organized by the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C. this national
tour is the first retrospective of the works of noted American artist
Gordon Parks, which synthesizes all aspects of his
career. Although Parks is best known as a photographer, his works as a
filmmaker, novelist, poet, and
musician will be included for the first time. Half Past Autumn: The Art of
Gordon Parks will include about 160 photographs, accompanied by films,
music, and manuscripts of poems, novels, and other writings by Parks.
It
is co-curated by Philip Brookman, curator of photography and media arts at
the Corcoran, and Deborah Willis, curator at the Center for
African-American History and Culture, Smithsonian Institution.
