After more than a year when a devastating burglary forced the original venue
to close, Gallery111, the Johannesburg based gallery has found new
premises.
The gallery supports emerging and established artists who work in all media.
Experimental and innovative work is encouraged particularly in digital and
video art. The gallery, run by James de Villiers with help from various
friends and artists, produces audio CDs and multimedia CDROM projects.
Collaborative efforts between poets, musicians and artists are supported.
The opening date of our first exhibition is 6:00pm Saturday 1st April 2000.
This group show will be a reflection of the ideals and aesthetics of the
gallery. At the opening, the audio section of 111, Caos Harmonia will be
launching their latest experimental music production Anglo Boer War
Cycle1 composed by Andi Spicer. There will be live music and performance.
Artists are invited to submit work for the opening exhibition as well as for
individual and group shows at later dates.
Entries for the opening exhibition close 20th March (no entry fee)
