"Coromandel Express"
2000-07-11 until 2000-08-05
Photographer's Gallery
London, ,
UK
The Coromandel Express is a train which runs between Calcutta and Madras; it also
shares its name with a small Parisian publishing house, founded in 1996. Their
publications include some of the most prestigious names in contemporary
photography, literature and design, including Mario Testino, William Klein, Josef
Koudelka, Mary Ellen Mark, Martin Amis, James Ellroy and Ettore Sottsass.
The
publications match a short story with exclusive signed photographs, printed in editions
limited to between 50 and 80 copies. The Photographers' Gallery will display work from
these publications in Coromandel Express's first solo exhibition in the UK. This is an
exciting and rare opportunity to view previously unseen work by highly influential and
respected photographers.
Publications are available for sale; prices from £1,500 + VAT.
