Placing the Taft Museum of Art's murals by Robert S. Duncanson in
the context of African American achievement, this exhibition considers
the legacy of African American art from the Colonial era to WWII.
Included are works by painters Joshua Johnston, Henry O. Tanner,
Duncanson and Horace Pippin; photographer James P. Ball; and sculptor
Edmonia Lewis among others. Guest curator is R. Kumasi Hampton, The
