The artist, Petra Kanke, combines paper with found metal and wooden objects to form artefacts of magical effect. Organic forms, juxtaposed with technical relics, create plastics of enigmatic origin in which nature and technical culture are amalgamated.
Instead of eliminating signs of usage and weathering in the materials, their idiosyncrasies become an essential part of the work.
