"Empty Bowls 10th Anniversary National Exhibition"

This show will feature the work of some of the finest potters in the United States and
beyond. Additionally, many aspiring potters and art students will also be involved. The exhibition will
include a selection of posters from The Center for the Study of Political Graphics in Los Angeles that will
help frame the issues of hunger and food security as ones of social justice. Proceeds from the sale of the
bowls will be gifted to several local and national organizations working to end hunger. Plans are to
utilize the exhibition as a six week long forum on social justice.
Another part of this show will be a display of Heroes bowls decorated by our heroes, role models and
mentors active in social justice work. The list of heroes participating thus far includes Joan Baez, Grace Lee
Boggs, Jim Bristah, Dr. Helen Caldicott, Joe Crachiola, W. Robert Docking, Gary Doyle, Lillian
Genser, Bishop Thomas Gumbleton, David Hacker, Richie Havens, Dr. Arthur Johnson, Megan
Karch, Helen Kozlowski, Sen. Carl Levin, Representative Sander Levin, Jim Macy, Michael H.
Margolin, Jane Marshall, Jeff Montgomery, Kary Moss, Shaun &Wesley Nethercott, Janet Ray, Dr.
Felix Rogers, Rev. Edwin Rowe, Brother Rick Samyn, Rev. Art Simon, Rudy Simons, Bill
Strickland, Arlene Victor, George Vutetakis, Alice Waters and Gerry & Julie Williams. More
names are added to the list each day.
