The Northwest Exhibition of Environmental Photography is a premier
photography event created to involve the Northwest US photographic community.
Thier mission is to promote awareness of the critical need to preserve and
protect the beauty and diversity of our natural world and its cultures,
through the visual messages of Northwest photographers. Established in
1997, this juried exhibit is produced by a non-profit organization of
dedicated volunteers, as a powerful educational tool for the general public.
The exhibit will be held at Rainier Square in downtown Seattle, from April
1st to May 31st, 2001. The exhibit's gala opening will be held at Rainier
Square, on Friday, April 20th 2001, from 4 - 6:30pm, followed by award
presentations, and a multimedia presentation by world renowned nature
photographer and Northwest native, Art Wolfe, at the Benaroya Hall's Illsley
Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall, in Seattle, at 7 pm.
The juried exhibit is open to amateur, professional and student
photographers, residing in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska. The exhibit
will be juried by three prominent judges, including Steve Freligh (Natures'
Best magazine), Roger Ressmeyer(Getty Images), and Patrick Donehue (Corbis).
ENTRY DEADLINE is January 19th , 2001.
