Jewish Museum of Australia
St Kilda, VI,
Born in postwar Poland, he is well-known for introducing a new critical discourse
into architecture and for his multi-disciplinary approach which meshes music,
philosophy and art with architecture. His practice extends from building major
cultural institutions such as museums and concert halls, to stage and exhibition
design, to urban and landscape projects.
The exhibition LINEAGE, and its associated events, explores the architecture of
Daniel Libeskind from different perspectives relevant to each venue, drawing
connections between his various projects and periods. The exhibition will include
superbly crafted models, architectural plans and drawings as well as photographs
of the completed projects. The exhibition will be installed in dynamic spaces
designed in collaboration with the award-winning architects Lab architecture studio.
