"Middelburg Residents Curate Exhibitions from the De Vleeshal Collection"
2000-10-31 until 2000-12-10
De Vleeshal
Middelburg, , NL Netherlands

Since 1986 the municipality of Middelburg has regularly bought contemporary works of art. In 1992 this collection and the acquisition funds have been located at De Vleeshal (Stichting Beeldende Kunst Middelburg). However, many of these works have never been shown. On invitation by De Vleeshal, a number of Middelburg residents will curate presentations of works from the De Vleeshal's collection.

Dick Anbeek (Veenendaal, 1949) will put together the first presentation. During the opening on sunday october 29, he will guide a tour explaining his choices. His presentation can be seen through to sunday november 12.

Shoona Tahitu (Middelburg, 1982) and Thijs van der Vliet (Leidschendam 1983) will jointly curate the second presentation, shown from tuesday november 14 through to sunday november 26. On friday november 17, at 5 p.m., they will guide a tour clarifying their choices.

Ton Kerkhove (Koudekerke, 1941) will be curating the final presentation, tuesday november 28 through to sunday december 10. His tour will take place on friday december 1, at 5 p.m.
