"WANTED: GENERAL MANAGER"
2000-11-28 until 2000-12-31
Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane
Brisbane, QL, AU

This is an exceptional job for an exceptional person. The IMA is one of Australia's major contemporary art spaces currently occupying a rundown warehouse in Fortitude Valley. In July 2001 it will move into the newly refurbished contemporary art centre on Brunswick Street. The IMA is a small organisation with 6 permanent staff and runs local, national and international exhibitions, publishing, performance, residency, public art, education and forum programs.

The General Manager runs the corporate affairs of the IMA. Particular opportunities exist in building the funding base, expanding audiences and developing the persona of an accelerating organisation. You need to be visionary, strategic, a lateral thinker, meticulous, a team player, customer focused and a motivator. A sense of humour, the desire to go the full monty and a commitment to contemporary culture are more than desirable attributes.

You can have little or a lot of experience - desire to achieve (while enjoying yourself) is paramount, and a willingness to accept a salary and benefits range $32,300 - $38,000.
