"Call to Artists: Mish, Mosh and More"

GOCAIA, the Gallery of Contemporary And Indigenous Art, brings people to downtown Tucson. The gallery, which has non-profit status, raises money for the community. Its first season showcases works by artists from diverse backgrounds, including Native American, African American, and Hispanic. A portion of GOCAIAs revenue is donated to community organizations. They are hosting a juried exhibition April 28 through May 20, 2001. The show is themed Mish, Mosh and More - an exploration of modern multi- and mixed- media artwork.

ELIGIBILTY AND MEDIA
Artists over the age of 18 years may submit a maximum of four (4) works completed within the last three (3) years. All media welcome.

SUBMISSION OF SLIDES
Artists may submit a maximum of four (4) slides for two-dimensional work or eight (8) slides for three-dimensional work. No photographs or other transparencies will be accepted. Slides must be 35mm (no glass) and clearly labeled as in diagram below with information that corresponds to that given on the application form. Slides of all accepted work will be retained until the end of the exhibition and may be used for publicity purposes.

Please be sure all of your slides are labeled COMPLETELY and CLEARLY.

SALES
All work will be available for sale unless marked NFS (not for sale). A 50% commission will be retained by GOCAIA on all sales. Artists will be paid for works sold as soon as GOCAIA is paid in full and checks have cleared.

CALENDAR
March 28, 2001: All entry forms and slides postmarked by midnight of this date.
April 9, 2001: Jury results mailed/emailed to artists.
April 24, 2001: Shipped work must arrive by this date.
April 24, 2001: Hand delivery of accepted work at GOCAIA gallery premises from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
April 28, 2001: Exhibit opens with Opening Reception and presentation of awards, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the gallery.
May 19, 2001: Last full day of Exhibition.
May 22, 2001: Pick up hand-delivered works at GOCAIA between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
May 26, 2001: Shipped work sent out to artists, if adequate shipping fees have been received by artist.

FEES
A nonrefundable fee of $20.00, payable to GOCAIA, must accompany up to 4 slide(s) and entry form. Each entry must also include SASE (for return of notification, slides, and loan agreement). Mail entry form and slides to:
