Indepth Arts News:
"2001 BFA Senior Exhibitions"
2001-02-21 until 2001-05-14
Corcoran Gallery of Art
Washington, DC,
USA
Maintaining a more than century-old partnership with the Corcoran Museum of Art, the
Corcoran College of Art and Design is the only college in the United States that incorporates
into its curriculum a student exhibition in a major museum. Each year, the College presents a
series of week-long, rotating exhibitions of artwork produced by graduating seniors in the
Bachelor of Fine Arts degree program.
The graduating students are responsible for all aspects
of these exhibitions, from exhibition design to installation. Through the formal presentation of
their work in the Corcoran Gallery of Art, they make the transition from students to professional
artists and designers, and are introduced as emerging talents to the public. This year's series
begins February 21 and continues through May 14. The work is on view in the Hemicycle, the
exhibition center for the Corcoran College of Art and Design.
