In 1955 Aileen Cramer, a Woodstock resident, packed her bags, camera (at the bequest of her
father, the famous artist/photographer Konrad Cramer) and journeyed through Europe. Her images
transport us to France, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Austria, Germany and England - to city streets,
mountain tops, and waterfronts.
These photographs reveal a Europe of time gone - caught between
the effects of the end of the second World War and the Communist revolutions of the 1950's.
Kramer's pictures, developed and printed by her father, offer a glimpse of the combined gifts of a
young adventurer and her father.
