Two recent video installations, Suburban Legend (1999) by Julie Becker and Up & Out (1998) by Christian Marclay, recontextualize the viewer's experience of the iconic films The Wizard of Oz and Blowup, respectively, by creating a conceptual disjunction between image and sound.
