Christies Photographs sales this spring will be led by a diverse array of images by
the 20th centurys most prominent masters, from vintage Brassai abstractions completely new to the
market to the innovations of contemporary British photographer Christopher Bucklow. The sale at
Rockefeller Center, to be held on April 18, will include works by many of the same artists whose
works captured the markets attention at Christies sales last fall, including Diane Arbus, Harry
Callahan, Walker Evans and Karl Struss.
Among the sales top lots are Andre Kerteszs Chairs of Luxembourg Gardens (estimate: $100,000-150,000), a 1925 vintage print on the characteristic carte-postale paper, and Diane Arbuss 1967 Twins,
Roselle, New Jersey (estimate: $120,000-180,000), a print of which sold last October at Christies for
$270,000, a record price for the artist at auction.
