Indepth Arts News:
"I Thought I Knew Negation Until You Said Goodbye"
2001-04-26 until 2001-06-24
Contemporary Arts Museum Houston
Houston, TX,
USA
The exhibition will feature the recent work of San Antonio artist Dario Robleto. Robletos work addresses the history of popular music. He has a
specific interest in the disc-jockey practice of sampling as well as the methods of music distribution and reception that challenge ideas related to
originality and reproducibility in the visual arts.
Robletos production materials, such as melted vinyl records, song lyrics and the biography of
music stars, are entirely taken from the world of music. The exhibition is curated by Paola Morsiani, Associate Curator, and will be accompanied
by a Perspectives-format catalogue.
