Indepth Arts News:
"release1 - Disturb Delight Design: Prototypes"
2001-08-17 until 2001-08-21
Revolving Museum
Boston, MA,
USA United States of America
The Revolving Museum presents Jean-Pierre Leguillou and Megan Hurst exhibiting twisted design prototypes, along with 23 other artists and designers. The exhibit challenges consumers to consider design beyond its obvious functional and aesthetic roles.
The 25 participants in this experiment have designed pieces that run the
gamut from horrifying to
delightful, including products, furniture, apparel, architecture, and
graphics. Wallpaper magazines August issue mentioned the exhibits
Suicider euthanasia drink and the Unisextoy as favorite prototypes.
The exhibit was created by release1, an organization that provides a forum
for design exploration sheltered from traditional market forces.
