Indepth Arts News:

"nooks and crannies: Installations in Non-Traditional Settings"
2001-09-15 until 2002-01-06
ASU Art Museum
Tempe, AZ, USA

The artists in the exhibition have consistently found ways to exhibit their work in non-traditional settings, the nook and cranny spaces that exist throughout the Phoenix area. Like determined collectors seeking out these talented artists, the audience must search for their installations in non-gallery spaces of the ASU Art Museum's Antoine Predock-designed Nelson Fine Arts Center.

Artists include: Julia Alexander, Matt Baker, Jill Betterly, Ryan Breen, Jeremy Briddell, Colin Chillag, Cyndi Coon, CUP (Helene Renard and Terry Surjan), Angela Ellsworth, Jon Haddock, Tara Kozuback, Sloane McFarland, Ryan McNamara, Jill McVarish, Jacob Melchi, Kelly Newcomer, Betsy Rosenmiller, Gregory Sale, Gregory Schaffer, Steve Weiss.

Organized by John Spiak, nooks and crannies will be installed in non-gallery spaces of the ASU Art Museum's Nelson Fine Arts Center location. Works will take place in bathrooms, elevators, hallways, terraces, stairways and other non-gallery spaces.
