"Echoes of the Spirit: Part of Japan 2001 Festival"

All over Japan, artists have joined hands with their disabled peers to
breathe new life into the traditional arts of both Eastern and Western
traditions. Five such collaborative groups have come together in this
display of calligraphy, painting, drawing and photography - a fine
illustration of social emancipation through the visual arts.
The touring
exhibition will be accompanied by artwork and a programme of events created
and performed by Bolton based artists with disabilities.

'Yoroshiku Ne'
Neil Farrelly will present his hugely interactive and highly amusing show
based around Japanese art, complementing the Echoes of the Spirit
exhibition.
A mix of old style paper stories, music, Buddhist chanting, kanji shapes,
shuji painting, festival masks, Tanabata Wishing, little Zen games, poems,
ideas and nonsense.
Something different and exciting, this show will bring out the creative side
in everybody!
