"Stranger Than Truth: Photographs of the Superfictional"
2002-01-04 until 2002-02-10
Australian Center for Photography
Paddington, NS,
AU
The Australian Centre for Photography is proud to present a contemporary Museum of Wonders.
The exhibition has been specially organised by Dr. Peter Hill, a former lighthouse keeper from
Glasgow who is now a world authority on the superfiction. This dazzling display includes
photographs of mythical creatures, spectral snapshots of the deceased and documentation of
the spiritual leader of the lost Pacific continent of Mu.
From the field
of science there are
technological demonstrations of telepathy and medical imaging which
makes visible the
phantom limbs experienced by recent amputees. With the world‚s best
collection of posters
for films that were never made and much, much more it is a museum of
dreams and fantasies.
And all you need to gain admission is your imagination.
The ACP gratefully acknowledges the assistance of the Museum of
Contemporary Ideas, New York
and the Sydney International Portrait Gallery in the staging of this
exhibition.
