About the King County Public Art Program:
Since 1973, the King County Public Art Program has been commissioning outstanding contemporary artwork by artists from the King County region and throughout the United States. The program works to ensure that both the work and thinking of artists is incorporated into the design and construction of buildings, public places and infrastructure. Funding for the program is generated from a 1% set-aside from County construction budgets. King County is the largest county in Washington State and includes Seattle as well as 37 other cities. The program seeks the very best artists of our day to work in partnership with communities and a nine-member commission to create innovative and excellent public art. contact: publicart@metrokc.gov
