"Star Spangled Colour",Opening July 4th, 2002 and hosted by Trace Contemporary Art, Belfast, promises an exhibit as diverse and exciting as it is colourful. The selected works from the 6 renowned American artists, Marty Walsh, Tom Pfannerstill, CJ Pressma, Susan Gorsen, Suzanne Mitchell and Joyce Garner is unified by each artist having their own identifiable language, control and application of colour that will produce a spangled show of contemporary artworks.
While in Belfast, the 6 American Artists will team up with local Artists and 10 young people from East Belfast in a large scale event entitled "Links that Connect Us". The artists together will produce 4 new pieces to be shown in Waterfront Hall. The project hopes to expand onto Billboard sites later in the year.
"Links That Connect Us" is a collaborative project organized by the GreenGrass/Bluegrass/NewGrass project originating in Louisville, KY.
Both projects are an effort at forging links of understanding and collaboration between 2 different countries through Art.
