For its fourth exhibition, the ART:ASAP Foundation Gallery will present the work of two artists, David Dalessandro and James H. Kinnie. Opening events are scheduled for July 11, 2002 from 6-9 pm. The exhibition is on show from July 11 until July 31, 2002.
Dalessandro has been a New York-based artist since 1973 when he came to study at the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture. His exhibition for the ART:ASAP Foundation Gallery stems from his imagination and is inspired by jazz musicians such as Miles Davis and Dexter Gordon.
Kinnie is a Williamsburg-based artist educated at S.V.A. and the Massachusetts College of Art. His works in this exhibition adapt the principles of his previous sculptural work done in wood for the creation of fresh abstract paintings.
The ART:ASAP Foundation continues to support both fledgling and established artists and their favorite charities, challenging current practice where galleries charge a fee for artist’s exhibitions, and also keep a substantial commission. At the ART:ASAP Foundation Gallery, 90% of the sale price goes to the artist while 10% is donated to charitable organizations.
The ART:ASAP Foundation not only provides artist exhibition space, but also maintains a resource center and portfolio library of artists, and offers fine art consulting as well.
The ART:ASAP Foundation Gallery is located at 444 West 50th Street in Hell’s Kitchen.
