From stoneware pots to the still-life cornucopia, the vessel/container is one
of the most commonly reproduced shapes by artists and artisans. The new exhibit
at the Art Collective features the vessel in form, theme & image.
Ingrid Aubol employs expressive drawing techniques to create an intimate,
monochromatic colorfield using soft pastels. The inclusion of the image of a
single bowl conveys the feeling of calm solitude within a textural surface.
Penne Frank Simon’s fine art glass is the essence of fluidity. Each blown
glass vase seems to have been stopped in motion. Repeated dippings give Simon
enough to glass for her to work with to create a more watery feel.
Ernest Miller's elegant vases are crafted of porcelain clay and finished
with equally graceful crystalline glazes. The organic nature of his pieces is
due to his expert handling of this unusual glaze, in which crystals grow
during the heating, and freeze like snowflakes on the
surface when cooled.
About the Art Collective: Art Collective is a retail gallery and resource
center where artists, designers and craftsmen can be found for custom and
