Edinburgh International Internet Festival 2001
Edinburgh, , UK United Kingdom

Disabled artist and founder of the E.I.I.Festival, PoL Steele is delighted to announce that the E.I.I.Festival 2002 will be acting as the opening celebration of what is already being hailed as one of the most imaginative combined charity and community art projects to occur within Scotland since the Millennium.

New Dalry house is a major new community arts resource centre which will be opening in Edinburgh this August. Owned by managed by two of Scotland's most renowned charities for the elderly... Age Concern Edinburgh and Edinburgh & Leith Age Concern.. Events within New Dalry House are overseen by a management team and advisory committee comprising of both Charities, local community arts groups, major Scottish business interests and representatives from both the Scottish Parliament and Edinburgh Council.

Working closely with the management of the centre the E.I.I.Festival will be using New Dalry House not only as a hub for our online activities in August and September... We will also be staging a series of combined arts events within Dalry House both during the Edinburgh festival season and throughout the year which are intended to raise funds for enhancing the facilities the centre is able to offer to the local community.

As a minimum of 70% of all funds raised by this year's E.I.I.Festival will go directly to the financing the continuation of the centre beyond the festival season... Each participant in the real world event and each person purchasing merchandise or attending our exhibitions, concerts and other events will be making a major contribution to the community arts resources available to the people of Edinburgh.

Participation & Exhibition Fees. No fee will be due directly to the E.I.I.Festival. However, those exhibiting their work or staging performances will be asked to provide a donation directly to New Dalry House from which the festival receives a small commission.
