"Art Forum Berlin 2002 Presents Emerging Contemporary Art"

ART FORUM BERLIN, the International Fair for Contemporary Art and one of the art world’s most eagerly anticipated events, will be held from September 26-30, 2002 at the Berlin Fairgrounds. Now in its seventh offering, ART FORUM BERLIN is dedicated exclusively to contemporary art and emerging works, with virtually every media represented, from video and photography to painting, sculpture and installation.
Participants in this year’s fair include 150 galleries, from approximately 25 nations. Exhibition areas will allows visitors to view and interact with the work, presented by both established and up and coming galleries, including: the Galeria Helga de Alvear from Madrid, Galerie Konrad Fischer from Cologne, Anthony Reynolds from London, Skuc Gallery from Ljubljana, Pierogi from New York, The Modern Institute of Glasgow, Trafo-House of Cotemporary Arts from Budapest, and Kurimanzutto from Mexico City.
Participating galleries are judged and selected by a new International Galleries Advisory Board. Fair admission is granted only to those galleries reflective of ART FORUM BERLIN’S creative vision and high standards of quality.
In addition to the exhibitions, ART FORUM BERLIN will also host a series of panels and discussions at which noted guest speakers will engage topics pertinent to contemporary art. Berlin’s own museums, galleries and cultural centers will be hosting numerous activities and new exhibitions, capitalizing on the increased attendance and attention granted to the city during ART FORUM BERLIN.
