In 2001, the City of Lodi’s Public Art Program began commissioning outstanding contemporary artwork by artists from the San Joaquin County region and throughout the State of California. The program works to ensure that both the work and thinking of artists is incorporated into the design and construction of buildings, public places and infrastructure. Funding for the program is generated from a 2% set-aside from public construction budgets. The program seeks the very best artists of our day to work in partnership with the community and the Art Advisory Board to create innovative and excellent public art. For more information, call the Lodi Arts Commission at (209)367-5442 or visit on-line at www.lodiarts.org.
