New California Masters at WORKS is a juried exhibition presented by WORKS/San Jose and curated by Christian L. Frock. This exhibition will present a diverse representation of the work and the ideas being set forth by the new generation of graduating MFA candidates from the span of the state of California. Any MFA candidate, graduating in 2003, from any accredited program is invited to submit a sample of their work for consideration.
The Jury: Juror/curator Christian L. Frock is the Associate Director of HANG, Palo Alto.
Juror Bryan Yedinak is the Director of Gallery 1060, Los Angeles and Gallery 494, Palo Alto.
Juror Lizabeth Oliveria is the Director of Lizabeth Oliveria Gallery, San Francisco.
There is NO FEE for entry. Please submit a package containing the following:
*CV or resume (must include schools of education and MFA graduation date within the year 2003, along with complete contact information.)
*3 slides max, labeled on the front of slides with artist's name, title of work, orientation ("TOP"), dimensions and media.
*VHS video will be accepted for new media submissions, must be cued and no more than 5 minutes in length. Videos must be labeled with artist's name and title of work.
*Artist statement of one typed page or less.
*Stamped, self-addressed envelope for the return of materials. Submissions without SASE will not be returned.
