Plaintiffs sued Sotheby’s and Christie’s Auction Houses on a class action basis alleging that the defendants conspired to fix, raise, maintain or stabilize prices for non-internet auction services. The Auction Houses agreed to settle the litigation by offering a combination of $512 million dollars of cash and transferable certificates to eligible class members. If you brought or sold items during the class period through Sotheby's and Christie's in the United States, you must submit your proof of claim form no later than February 25, 2003.
Chicago Clearing Corporation, the nation's most experienced market maker of transferable settlement certificates, will create a secondary market for the certificates.
