Artist Juliette Pelletier's premiere mixed media paintings and works on paper will be on display at Micro Museum from March 6 - April 27.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Ms. Pelletier has a unique worldly perception due to her upbringing which spans eight countries and five continents. In preparation for this exhibit, she gathered historical accounts of her female relatives lives and others. These remarkable women were pinnacles in their families as they braved challenging circumstances and endured adversity as the results of their femaleness.
Each mixed media painting expresses these individual womenís dignity and presence of mind and tells a story of adventure, courage, fearlessness, strength and above all, femininity. The pieces apply a va! riety of media including acrylic, ink, sand, paper collage, tea, polyurethane and oil paint.
Ms. Pelletier has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Parsons School of Design and studied advanced classical painting and drawing at the Ecole Nationale SupÈrieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France. She has professionally exhibited in Switzerland, France, Canada and the US.
Micro Museum is an eccentric art center that bridges innovation, art and education. It has been a pioneering force on Smith Street since 1986 and is a working hub for hundreds of interdisciplinary artists and students to exchange of ideas that promote collaboration, innovation, energy, and peace.
