Photographers are called to submit work for the large format photography exhibition, Sydney Looking Forward 2003. One of the most popular exhibitions from last year's Art & About program, Sydney Looking Forward is displayed along the central walkway of Hyde Park North. This year the exhibition again takes shape as a stunning gallery of photographic images suspended among the trees and on a grand scale.
Presented by the City of Sydney and AMP, Sydney Looking Forward is just one of the exhibitions developed for Art & About; An annual public art event designed to enliven Sydney's CBD from 6-26 October 2003.
Curated by Sandy Edwards of Stills Gallery, Sydney Looking Forward will combine works by both emerging and established artists, providing artists' with a wonderful opportunity for exposure and public interaction. All artists are invited to apply.
Artists submitting work for this exhibition are asked to portray a single image that makes a unique and contemporary statement about the City and its inhabitants - in essence to evoke an uplifting sense of the present and Sydney Looking Forward.
Selected images will be reproduced on a scale, 2.33m high x 3.5m wide
Last year Sydney Looking Forward captured the interest of thousands of passers by. This year city workers, joggers and tourists will be struck with a new range of work in the same location that is sure to make them look again.
