Nearly 800 American and Canadian artists will make their way to Philadelphia for the 2003 summer Buyers Market of American Craft (BMAC) July 11-13 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
More than 7,000 buyers representing galleries, boutiques, small craft stores, department stores and mail-order catalogues across the country attend the BMAC every July. The summer market is a vital tool for independent retailers in search of new work and new artists. Nearly 10% of the total sales at the 2002 show were by new exhibitors, who represented just 5% of the show’s total exhibitors.
Buyers and artists interested in attending can call 800.43.CRAFT or visit www.americancraft.com for more information.
Highlights of the July show include daily breakfast seminars led by business educators and members of the fine American craft community as well as the Buyers Market Party at the Philadelphia Zoo on Friday, July 11 and the NICHE Top 100 Retailers ceremony, Saturday, July 12.
Sales at the 2002 summer show surpassed $9 million.
The Buyers Market of American Craft, www.americancraft.com, is produced by The Rosen Group, a Baltimore-based arts marketing and publishing firm.
