On behalf of The Cultural Commission Coevorden (the Netherlands) the globalartfund is selecting artists for the international art project ‘Waves’. 15 artists are asked to produce monumental pieces with the material ‘corrugated cardboard’, for indoor and outdoor locations. The theme: Waves reaching the cost.
Corrugated cardboard, originally used for packaging, is also used by designers and architects for very interesting industrial design and buildings. (For more info see: www.golfkarton.org).
‘Waves’is planned for the summer of 2004. Artists will work 14 days on each project (May 2004). There will be an official vernissage in combination with the presentation of the ‘Waves Award’, a competition for Dutch designers based on the same material.
Exhibition of art pieces and design objects will continue through the summer of 2004. Selected artists will receive an artists fee, travel expenses and lodging/full board during the working period.

Realisation of the entire project depends on sufficient funding. Deadline for funding will be January 1, 2004.

Globalartfund is an initiative of artist/curator Adri A.C. de Fluiter. His goal: exchanging art worldwide, bringing people together.
