In December the "Spiral" - an exhibition featuring artist Knut Pani was inaugurated. The exhibition presents/displays the most recent works by the artist, which includes more than 10 works in oil on canvas and wood, in addition to works in monotypes, splendidly integrated in tryptics and polyptics in different proportions. As a very versitale artist, with numerous exhibitions, over the past 30 years, Knut Pani, is part of a generation of artists which have established themselves.
Knut Pani was born in Mexico City in 1956.
In 1983 he received his B.F.A. in painting and illustration from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Ca.
From 1983 to 1990 he lived in Mexico City, where he worked on his paintings, etchings, sculptures and teaching. Pani's artistic expression, with its characteristic abstraction, became even more synthetic
when he moved to the country side where he designed and built his house and studio. In 1993 he founded "El Pez Soluble" printing press in Tequisquiapan, Mexico, which offers workshops for artists from all over the world in the etching techniques. Knut Pani has painted five murals in Mexico. His work can be found among more than 90 private collections worldwide.
In 2001 he had his first sculpture exhibition and that same year he represented Mexico in the third Biennale of contemporary Art in Florence, Italy, where he received the "Lorenzo il Magnifico" bronze medal award in painting.
