The Kentucky Museum of Arts + Design is proud to present The Body Adorned: an exhibition featuring a variety of handcrafted works of art that can adorn the human body. “Craft artists are masters at adapting a wide range of materials for use as clothing and jewelry in ways that express the personality of the user and reflect the vision of the artist,” says KMA+D curator Mary Ellen Furlong. “From silver and gold jewelry, to hand-woven or hand-painted clothing, to purses, hats and scarves, this exhibition will showcase the perfect marriage of form and function,” says Furlong.
Participating artists from Kentucky and across the U.S. include Bonnie Aitken, Clara Ines Arana, Stephanie Lindsey, Robin L. Bergman, Bonnie Blincoe, Elisa Bongfeldt, Jamison Brumm, Karen Chu, Sandra Clark, Terri L.
