2004-02-16 until 2004-02-20
Raw Arts Auction
USA United States of America
May 15th 2004 will bring the focus of the International art world to the works of today's emerging, self-taught Raw artists. This premiere, International event, will undoubtedly change the way unschooled artists and the discerning art collector connect. Raw Artists are defined as those who create works of art without having had any formal training in the arts. Often referred to as self-taught artists, folk artists, intuitive artists, or visionary artists, these artists create from their memories, emotions and raw instinct rather than their schooled instruction.
This unprecedented event will bring International exposure to artists who are otherwise denied art gallery representation due to their lack of formal training, or refuse representation due to their unwillingness to conform to the mainstream art world. This premiere Raw Art auction, to be conducted by Last Call Auction Services, will be held at the Harrison Center For The Arts in Indianapolis, Indiana and concurrently as an eBay LIVE auction. The latter giving instant viewing, bidding, and purchasing access to literally millions world-wide.Michel Leah Keck-Borsits (a.k.a. The Raw Artist) is an artist, director and coordinator of the Raw Arts Auction.
DEADLINE: Feb. 20th 2004 is the last day for self-taught artists to submit their portfolios for review.
