Located in the busy pedestrian sector at the intersection of High, Lichfield and Manchester Streets, The Kiosk is the ‘shop window’ for the Physics Room contemporary art project space. The Kiosk began in 2000 as an initiative of the Oblique Trust, but since May 2003 has been under the auspices of the Physics Room. So far The Kiosk has housed contemporary object art, craft, screen-based and audio works and painting.
The Kiosk is a unique mini-exhibition space with power, halogen lights and built-in speakers, with floor dimensions of 700mm along the windows, 557mm at the narrowest end, 710mm at the widest end and 705mm high.
Expressions of interest from artists and curators with ideas for exhibiting in The Kiosk in mid to late 2004 are welcomed before the deadline of 14th May. More information is available at www.physicsroom.org.nz/kiosk/
